Dark Warriors of Club Penguin

FROSTY, Dark Warriors – Welcome to the first version of Veteran Spotlight, where we will be interviewing Monstah. Let’s drive straight in!!!

TD999, also known as Monstah, first discovered the Club Penguin Army community in 2012, although his main involvement began in 2019. He quickly became known for his leadership, most notably as the creator of Secret Service and founder of the Strawhats. Under his leadership, Secret Service grew into a strong Small/Medium army before eventually reaching Major status, while its fourth generation went on to reach sizes of 30–60+. He also held leadership positions in armies including Special Tactics and Weapons (SWAT), Water Troops, Elite Forces, Squids, Romans, and Dark Warriors.

Outside of his work with Secret Service, TD999 became involved in several major wars and tournaments throughout his career. One of his more memorable moments came in 2022 while leading the Strawhats, when he declared war on every active army at the same time. He has also been recognized as a legend and veteran by several armies, including Secret Service, Strawhats, Dark Warriors, Romans, and Templars.

TD999 has also contributed to the community outside of individual armies, taking on various roles in army leagues and organizations. He has served as an advisor, moderator, judge, and executive producer across different CPA organizations, including helping found the Small Medium Army Network. Today, he remains involved in the community through his roles with the Romans, Secret Service, and Dark Warriors.

When did you start your CPA Journey, and what was your first army?

My active journey in CPPS armies began in 2019. When I first joined DW in 2020, it was still a newly revived army that just landed in CPOAL. I felt drawn to the theme and community which made me want to be a part of it. DW was still building itself at the time when I joined & I got to be a part of it. I joined as a troop at the start before making into the HCOM ranks quickly. DW would later go onto place #1 on the Global Top Tens featuring CPR & CPO armies, forming BIA Alliance, becoming one of the biggest armies again in 2020 at the peak of the gen etc. which were memorable experiences for me.

What are the extraordinary achievements you did in Dark Warriors and CPA?

Some of my achievements in Dark Warriors include attaining the rank of 2nd in Command, winning Agent/Staff of the Week, being awarded Honorary Warrior along with a few others during the 2020 generation having served at the peak of the generation etc. As for my achievements outside DW, I’ve led and served in multiple armies over the years. But to pick one would be creating and leading my own army Secret Service which went on to become one of the major armies during CPPS era leaving an undeniable mark in the community with its numerous achievements.

How can you describe the CPA and DW journey in one word? Why?

Unexpected. I was always a “roll with it” guy doing what I wanted to do or had to do who never had completely set plans on how I wanted to go about my CPA journey. A lot of things that occurred including me joining DW were not something I expected or planned long before. Despite that, the decisions I made joining DW & in CPA worked out really well for me and is something I’ve never regretted. I consider DW one of my homes in CPA as it is one of the armies that I’ve put in the most effort and time over the years during my time in CPA. The experience I’ve gained in DW was crucial for me as it would be a contributing factor in shaping my later CPA journey.

If there’s someone you would like to credit your CPA and Dark Warriors’ journey, who?

I was able to meet a lot of people, build connections & friendships during my time in CPA & DW that would last for years to come and are still maintained. I’d credit my DW journey to all the people I’ve worked with including the troops, fellow hcom & staff members but primarily the leaders at the time: Noa, Julia & Megan aswell as Freezie who acted as a guardian/overseer. Their guidance and leadership when I was in DW taught me most of what I knew by that point as someone who was still inexperienced in armies before joining DW.

What are the lessons we can learn from your journey?

Keep going & have faith. Like I’ve said, my CPA journey has been unexpected with a lot of ups and maybe downs but something I’d consider meaningful in a lot of ways. I was able to achieve a lot of things I’ve wanted as I kept going both in DW & CPA. Take the necessary steps, trust the process & take risks if you must. Also make sure you are having fun according to whatever your definition of fun is and you will be fine. You decide your potential and limits in the end.

Lastly, where do you think Dark Warriors will go in the Next year?

Dark Warriors under the current leadership have surprised me on various occasions. They have been really consistent in their growth thanks to the really dedicated & hardworking leadership and I hope they keep at it. I strongly believe they can become one of the top 3 armies if not the best this year if they keep following this path. The DW community ranging from the troops to staff to the leaders are also lovely and supportive which is the most important factor. I wish DW the best of luck in achieving whatever they have their sights on in the future. KEEP BURNING THE LIGHT!

After years of being involved in different armies and parts of the community, TD999 has definitely left his mark on CPA and the Dark Warriors. From leading Secret Service to helping other armies as an advisor, his career has had plenty of memorable moments. With his experience and long history in the community, it will be interesting to see what comes next for him.
