The Basics of Astro Barrier

Astro Barrier can be found inside the Dance Lounge, where you will find the arcade machine ready for you to jump into your very own spaceship! The controls are pretty simple, with the Left and Right Arrow Keys or A and D being used to move your ship, while the Spacebar is used to fire your shots. Your goal is to shoot every target on the screen, but there is a catch — you only have a limited number of shots available!

There are 40 regular levels in Astro Barrier, with each one introducing different layouts and targets as you progress. Once you hit all of the targets, they will turn red and you can move onto the next level. However, if you run out of shots before hitting everything, you will lose a life and have to restart the level. Some targets can also block others, so you will need to think about the order in which you take your shots.

How Does Astro Barrier Work?

The main objective is simple: hit every target before you run out of shots. Your shots do not hit instantly, meaning you will need to account for the short delay between firing and hitting a target. This becomes particularly important when targets are moving or when you need to shoot through a narrow gap.

As you progress through the levels, you will encounter different types of targets. Blue targets can give you an extra life if you hit them before the other targets, while orange switches remove orange barriers from the level. Later on, you will also encounter yellow targets that need to be hit twice, expanding targets and Blasters that can fire back at your ship. Learning how each target works will make the harder levels much easier!

Astro Barrier Stamps Walkthrough

There are a total of 12 Astro Barrier Stamps to collect, ranging from Easy all the way up to Extreme. Some are as simple as completing your first five levels, while others will have you completing all 40 regular levels, finding the Secret and Expert Levels and collecting eight 1-ups in a single game. So, let’s blast off and see how you can obtain them all!

Easy Stamps

Astro5 Stamp

Ready to get started? This one is as easy as it gets! All you need to do is successfully complete the first five levels of Astro Barrier. Take your time, line up your shots and make sure you do not run out of ammunition. Finish Level 5 and you will have earned the Astro5 Stamp!

Astro5 Max Stamp

Think you can make it through those first five levels without missing a shot? For the Astro5 Max Stamp, you need to complete the first five levels without missing any of your shots. Be patient and pay attention to the movement of the targets before firing. Successfully complete all five levels without missing and you will have another stamp added to your collection!

Medium Stamps

Astro40 Stamp

Now we are taking things a little further! The Astro40 Stamp requires you to complete all 40 regular levels of Astro Barrier. This means making your way from Level 1 all the way through Level 40, so you will need to get comfortable with the different targets introduced throughout the game. Successfully complete all 40 levels and this stamp is yours!

Ship Blast Stamp

Things are about to get a little explosive! Later in Astro Barrier, you will encounter a Blaster that can fire shots alongside your own spaceship. For this stamp, use the Blaster to shoot a ship and you will obtain the Ship Blast Stamp!

1-up Blast Stamp

Fancy getting yourself an extra life? For the 1-up Blast Stamp, you need to use a Blaster to shoot a 1-up. Once you reach the levels containing the Blaster, line up your shot and let the Blaster do the work. Successfully shoot the 1-up and this stamp will be yours!

Astro Secret Stamp

Feeling like discovering something hidden? The Astro Secret Stamp requires you to complete all of the Secret Levels. These levels are not part of the normal progression, so you will need to know how to unlock them first. Once you have successfully completed all of the Secret Levels, you will have earned this stamp!

Astro10 Max Stamp

Now we are going to put your aim to the test! For the Astro10 Max Stamp, you need to complete Levels 1–10 without missing a single shot. The further you progress, the more carefully you will need to time your shots, so do not rush. Complete Level 10 without missing and you will have earned the stamp!

Astro20 Max Stamp

Still haven’t missed? Excellent! The Astro20 Max Stamp requires you to complete Levels 1–20 without missing a shot. The targets become more complicated as you progress, so keep an eye on their movements and make sure you know where your shot is going before pressing Spacebar. Make it through Level 20 with a perfect shot record and this stamp is yours!

Hard Stamps

Astro Expert Stamp

Now we are heading into the Expert Levels! To obtain the Astro Expert Stamp, you need to unlock and complete all of the Expert Levels. These are hidden within the normal game, so you will need to follow the steps below to access them. Once you have successfully completed the Expert Levels, you will have earned one of the harder Astro Barrier Stamps!

Astro30 Max Stamp

Think your aim is good enough to make it through 30 levels without missing? The Astro30 Max Stamp requires you to complete Levels 1–30 without missing a single shot. This becomes much more difficult as you encounter trickier targets, so take your time and make every shot count. Complete Level 30 without a miss and you will have earned this stamp!

Astro 1-up Stamp

For this one, you are going to need to become quite the collector! The Astro 1-up Stamp requires you to collect eight 1-ups in a single game. Keep an eye out for the blue targets that provide extra lives and make sure you hit them when they appear. Collect eight 1-ups during one game and you will have completed this stamp!

Extreme Stamps

Astro Master Stamp

Last but not least, we have reached the Extreme stamp! The Astro Master Stamp requires you to complete 25 levels, the Secret Levels and the Expert Levels. This is one of the biggest challenges Astro Barrier has to offer, so you will need to be comfortable with the game before attempting it. Complete the required levels and both sets of hidden levels and you will have earned the ultimate Astro Barrier stamp!

Secret & Expert Levels

But wait, there are some hidden levels hiding inside Astro Barrier! The Secret Levels can be accessed just before Level 11. When the game displays the information about the orange switch, wait for around 30 seconds. A blue ship will then appear on the screen. Shoot it and you will be taken into the Secret Levels. Once you complete all ten Secret Levels, you will return to the regular game at Level 16.

The Expert Levels can be accessed in a similar way. Just before Level 31, the game will show you information about the Blaster. Instead of continuing immediately, wait for around 25 seconds and a blue ship will appear. Shoot the blue ship and you will enter the ten Expert Levels.

Once you finish the Expert Levels, you will also get the chance to shoot five special score targets worth 500 points each. Hit them all and you will receive an additional 2,500 points before the game ends!

Tips & Tricks

Getting all of the Astro Barrier Stamps can be tricky, but taking your time will make things much easier! Your shots have a short delay before hitting their targets, so do not fire too quickly. Watch how the targets move and try to line up your shot before pressing Spacebar.

Keep an eye out for the blue targets too, as these can give you an extra life if you hit them before the other targets. This is especially important if you are trying to collect eight 1-ups for the Astro 1-up Stamp. However, be careful with the order you shoot targets, as some levels can become impossible if you hit the wrong target first.

Finally, practise the regular levels before attempting the harder stamps. The Max stamps require you to complete increasingly long sections without missing a shot, so learning the layouts will help massively. Once you are comfortable with the game, you can then focus on unlocking the Secret and Expert Levels and completing the Astro Master challenge!
