Dark Warriors of Club Penguin

Hey there, Dark Warriors! Fancy some shiny new items for your penguin? Club Penguin Journey is hiding a whole collection of golden treasures, and every one of them is completely free if you know where to look! In this Club Penguin Journey golden items guide, we’ll show you how to find all 4 secret golden items: the Solid Gold Viking Helmet, the Gold Bunny Slippers, the Goldstache and the Gold Surfboard. Each one also comes with its own secret stamp.

Golden Items at a Glance

There are 4 golden items hidden around the island, and finding each one earns you a secret stamp. The Viking Helmet puzzle also gives you a bonus stamp, so that’s 5 secret stamps in total. To get started, just log into Club Penguin Journey and join any server.

Solid Gold Viking Helmet

This one is on the Stage, and it’s the quickest of the four. Head to The Plaza, then walk into The Stage.

1. Find the Switchbox 3000 in the middle of the room, just above the chat bar.
2. Click each of the 4 switches once.
3. Click the purple button in the middle.

Do that and the Solid Gold Viking Helmet is yours! You’ll also earn two stamps: Golden Viking for the helmet, and Stage Crew for operating the Switchbox 3000.

Two things to watch out for. If you click the yellow lever before you’ve finished, the puzzle resets, so leave it alone. Also, the Switchbox 3000 isn’t there during some stage plays, such as Night of the Living Sled: Live and Ruby and the Ruby, so if you can’t see it, wait until the play changes.

Gold Bunny Slippers

These are hidden in a secret room, so this is the most adventurous of the four. Head to The Town and go into the Nightclub. Look at the top right of the room and you’ll see a speaker. Click it and it opens to reveal a ladder. Climb down and you’ll land in the Boiler Room.

Here you’ll find a filing cabinet with several drawers. Throw snowballs at the drawers in this order:

1. Bottom left
2. Middle right
3. Top right

Do Red, Green, Blue then Yellow in that order

If you got the order right, you’ll see the drawers drop down slightly. Now click the bottom right drawer to open it, then click again to collect the Gold Bunny Slippers. They’ll also earn you the Golden Slippers stamp.

If a party has changed the decorations and the drawers are missing or look different, you’ll need to wait until the party ends.

Goldstache

This one takes a bit of patience! Head to The Cove and click the binoculars hanging from the lifeguard’s chair.

Now wait for a yellow fish (Fluffy the Fish) to jump out of the water. This can take a few minutes, so be patient. When it does, click it quickly. Spam-clicking can help!

Catch the fish and you’ll get the Goldstache and the Goldstache stamp. If you miss it, don’t worry. Just leave the binoculars, click them again and wait for the fish to try again.

As with the others, if a party has removed the binoculars, wait until it’s over.

Gold Surfboard

The newest golden item is also in The Cove, and it’s hidden in a very unexpected place: a catalog! Find the Game Upgrades catalog on the surfboard next to the hut, by the Catchin’ Waves game, and click it to open it.

The trick is to spell the word “GOLDEN” by clicking the letters in the catalog’s text, in order. One guide lists the letters as the G in “game”, the O in “surfboard”, the L in “while”, the D in “holding”, the E in “get” and the N in “in”.

Once you’ve clicked all six, click Yes to claim the Gold Surfboard. It will show up on your player card, and you can take it into Catchin’ Waves, where it works just like the Silver Surfboard. You’ll also earn the Gold Surfboard stamp.

If it doesn’t work the first time, close the catalog, open it again and try once more.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Parties change things. Decorations and stage plays can hide the Switchbox 3000, the drawers or the binoculars. If something is missing, wait until the party or play is over.
• Start over if you slip up. Closing a catalog and reopening it, or leaving the binoculars and clicking them again, resets that secret so you can try again.
• Be patient with the fish. The Goldstache fish can take a few minutes to jump, so keep your cursor ready.
• Check your stamp book. Each item should give you a stamp straight away. If one doesn’t show up, check back after the next game update.
