Dark Warriors of Club Penguin

Hello Dark Warriors and the larger army community! As many of you have probably seen by now, there is a channel on Discord where a post from the website was recently posted! Written by yours truly, this is the beginning of a second coming of the Dark Warriors News Central. We are naming it, as per a previous attempt, the Eclipse Times. Read on to find out more about the effort.

As part of this revival of the Eclipse Times, we are instituting multiple opportunities for not only staff and leaders, but also troops to be involved in. This is primarily to allow for troops to feel more welcomed and understood in the Dark Warriors, even if you are not always in chat like our most active members. Therefore, Eclipse Times will always be a force of change in the Dark Warriors, allowing for new ideas and we appreciate all feedback.

After discussion with staff and leaders, we have decided on the following opportunities:

• Staff-only posts
  • Columns
    • The Name Behind the Person — A satirical column that is similar to a character assassination of sorts, either making fun of the person’s name/behavior in Dark Warriors. Troops/staff can either volunteer for the ‘honor’ to be in the post OR if you are active by coming to events and achieving higher ranks, you can suggest someone else’s name.
    • TBD name — This column, while not introducing a name yet, will be a more serious version of the Name Behind the Person column. Essentially, it will introduce the person, and if they have been in armies for some time, we will also describe their army history.
    • Penguin Showcase — The setup for this column has not begun yet; however, once it is determined how this will run, troops will be able to share their penguin as they designed on CP Army Battleground. This will allow troops to do whatever they want with their igloos, due to the availability of many items. If you wish to showcase an igloo/penguin on a different private server, assuming you play Club Penguin on other servers, this is also okay.
    • Twilight Hour — This will detail Dark Warriors’ Lore. This includes both the origin of funny events or series of jokes and history of the Dark Warriors, in an effort to expand everyone’s knowledge of the Dark Warriors.
• Wider Community
  • Individual Posts
    • This includes staff and troops. Troops (except those who will be active posters on the website) will have to submit in a Google Doc, along with all images, to an Eclipse Times editor. Signatures are only for staff and active troop posters on the website.
    • These can be for any posts that do not fit in a column, for example:
      • Short stories
        • These should primarily be Dark Warriors-focused, for the sole reason that we want to make the stories feel connected to our community. However, if you write an excellent story and any editor thinks that your story sounds interesting, we will still accept it. We may stagger story submissions, as we don’t want too many overlapping to allow for people to read all of the stories. The stories can be in multiple parts OR a one-time post. Please do not exceed 1000 words, and space it out with headings for every 300 words. If an image can be drawn, please do so, so the story is readable by all ages 13 and above!

This is a short list of what all we can expect from Eclipse Times, either in the near future or the coming weeks. We hope for full involvement from all included. Thank you for reading the full post, and we hope that you enjoy our efforts and chip in!
