Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: The Quick Answer

Short on time? Start here! In our Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide, Cart Surfer is the best all-round coin farm, Pufflescape is a great second choice once you have its stamps, and AFK mining is perfect for when you can’t be at your keyboard. So everything else is a nice bonus on top.

Method Reported Coins Effort Best For
Cart Surfer Skilled runs pay about 300–450 coins, around 3,800 in 10 minutes High (active) Big totals, fast
Pufflescape Players call it the fastest once you have all its stamps High (active) Stacking bonuses
Puffle Roundup Up to about 100 coins per 20 seconds for skilled players Medium (active) Small top-ups
Ice Fishing 4–100 coins per fish, doubled with stamps Medium (active) A relaxed session
Jobs Roughly 30–90 coins per order Medium (needs customers) Working with friends
AFK Mining Around 320 coins in 10 minutes Very low (passive) Earning while you do something else
Monthly Pay 250 coins a month None once unlocked Free coins in the background

Remember: these amounts come from players like you, and they change with your skill, your stamps and the weekend you play. So think of them as a guide, not a promise!

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: How to Multiply Your Coins

Before you start grinding, here’s a secret our Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide can’t skip: the same game can pay you very different amounts depending on what you’ve unlocked. Don’t worry, because there are only three multipliers to know about, and they’re easy to get the hang of.

1. Minigame Stamps (2x)

Once you collect all the stamps for a minigame, every round of that game pays you double at the end. It’s the best upgrade you can give yourself, because it works every single round! So pick the game you’ll play the most and finish its stamps first. If you’re not sure where to begin, try Cart Surfer, since its stamps are some of the easier ones and you’ll reach the bonus sooner.

2. Double Coin Weekend (2x)

Every month, once the new Penguin Style catalog comes out, there’s a Double Coin Weekend, and minigame payouts are doubled. Already have all the stamps for the game you’re playing, though? The bonuses stack, so you earn four times the normal amount! So save your biggest grind for this weekend whenever you can.

3. Work Stamps (2x for Jobs)

Once you’ve collected all of the Penguins at Work stamps, you get double coins for working at the Coffee Shop, Pizza Parlor and Iceberg. Our jobs section lists every stamp target, so you know exactly what to aim for.

Your Situation Coin Multiplier
No stamps, normal weekend 1x
All stamps for the game, normal weekend 2x
No stamps, Double Coin Weekend 2x
All stamps for the game, Double Coin Weekend 4x

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: Minigames

Minigames are the heart of earning coins in Club Penguin Journey. So here’s how to get the most out of each one, with a few friendly tips along the way!

Cart Surfer: The Best Coin Farm

Where: Open the map, choose the Mine Shack and go inside, then head to the mining shaft to start the cart.

Cart Surfer is the one nearly everyone agrees on, because it pays so well. Once you get the hang of it, a run takes about a minute and can pay 300–450 coins. One player earned over 3,800 coins in just 10 minutes, and once you collect all of the game’s stamps, that doubles!

Remember: repeating the same trick twice in a row cuts its points in half, so always switch things up. Before you start, here’s the routine players use:

First, try the back-flip by pressing Down, then Space. It’s one of the best-paying tricks, worth roughly 80–100 points, so use it often. Then mix in the side-flip by pressing Space, then Left or Right. When you reach a corner, press Down once and hold Left or Right to grind around the turn, but don’t hold it too long, or your cart will crash. If you do crash, press Space to respawn, and then carry on.

Every 10 points you score is worth about 1 coin, so an 80-point trick puts roughly 8 coins in your pocket. Some players crash on purpose to get an extra corner, but guides disagree on which turn works best. Still, give it a go and see what suits you!

Cart Surfer: The Crash Bonus Trick

Here’s a clever extra: crashing on purpose gives you an extra life, and more lives mean more tricks and more coins. A regular run has 8 turns, but with the right timing you can stretch it to 13 turns. To pull it off, you need to crash on a certain turn after each life.

First, crash on the sixth turn of your first life. Then, on your third life, crash on the second turn, and on your fourth life, don’t crash at all, just finish the game. Your second life is the trickiest, because the pattern depends on your score and the tunnel layout.

To find your pattern, look at the first two waves of turns when you enter your second life. If you see 3 turns and then 2, crash on the 5th turn. If you see 2 and then 2, crash on the 4th turn, and if you see 1 and then 2, crash on the 3rd turn. Finally, if you spot the Trickster pattern (2 turns, then 1), crash on the 4th turn if you can.

That’s plenty to get you started in this Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide, so check our full Cart Surfer guide for the complete pattern table and more tips on earning the maximum coins in one game.

Pufflescape: The Stacking Champion

Where: Puffle Park, through the Plaza.

Pufflescape is where the multipliers really shine, because it stacks so well! The trick is to replay Level 11 on Expert again and again, so you earn quickly. Once you’ve collected all of its stamps you get 2x coins, and a Double Coin Weekend takes that up to 4x. If you only have time for one stamp hunt, this is a great one, so our Club Penguin Journey Pufflescape guide can help you get there.

Want All the Pufflescape Stamps?

Collecting every Pufflescape stamp doubles the coins you earn from each round, which makes it a brilliant stamp hunt for stacking with a Double Coin Weekend!

Our Club Penguin Journey Pufflescape guide takes you through the stamps, so you can reach the 2x bonus sooner. So, ready to stack your coins? Then check out the full guide below!

Puffle Roundup: The Quick Top-Up

Where: Map > The Plaza > Pet Shop, then go through the door marked “Employees” on the right and head into Puffle Park.

Each round lasts 120 seconds, but skilled players can earn up to about 100 coins per 20 seconds. That’s 300 coins a minute, so it adds up fast! Your payout depends on how many puffles you catch and how much time is left, because it’s roughly (seconds left × puffles caught) ÷ 10.

To make the most of it, herd the puffles in quickly, because finishing faster pays more. However, don’t let puffles escape towards the forest or the top of the hill, as that loses you points. White puffles are the slowest and least jumpy, while green and brown ones are the most sensitive, so go gently with them! Also, if a puffle is stuck inside the fence, get your cursor close to push it back out.

It’s perfect for earning the last 80 or so coins you need for an item. However, for bigger amounts, Cart Surfer is the better choice.

Catchin’ Waves: Gear Up First

Where: The Cove.

Catchin’ Waves pays best once you’re properly kitted out. A Red Puffle gives you 3 extra points per jump, while the Silver Surfboard lets you jump higher for even more points. Then you can buy the Silver Surfboard by clicking any letter in the word “WAVES”. Freestyle mode pays the most, while Surf Lesson is a relaxed place to learn the controls first.

Want All the Catchin’ Waves Stamps?

Catchin’ Waves has a whopping 22 stamps, from First Trick all the way to the tricky Shark! and Survivor stamps. Once you collect them all, every run in the Cove pays double.

Ice Fishing: A Relaxing Earner

Where: The Ice Pond, through the Ski Lodge.

First, you’ll need the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod for this one. Each fish pays differently, and the amounts double once you have all of the Ice Fishing stamps:

Fish Coins With All Stamps
Yellow Fish 4 8
Gray Fish (rarer, harder to catch) 8 16
Mullet Fish 100 200

The mullet is the real prize, so be patient and try to land one every session!

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: Jobs & Mining

Jobs aren’t the fastest way to earn coins in our Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide, but they’re a fun change of pace, they give you plenty of stamps, and they get much better once you’ve finished the Penguins at Work stamps. Remember: wear only the job outfit, because extra items can stop it working. Also, you’ll find the uniforms in the Classifieds section of the Newspaper.

Coffee Shop: Barista

First, you’ll need the Coffee Apron, which costs 100 coins. Then wait for a penguin to send the coffee emote to place an order, and grab the cup from the counter and deliver it. Simple! Each order pays roughly 30–90 coins, and once you’ve served 5, 20 and 50 coffees in one session, you’ll earn the stamps.

Pizza Parlor: Pizza Chef

Before you start, pick up the Pizza Apron (100 coins) and the Chef’s Hat (50 coins). Then, when a penguin sends the pizza emote to order, grab the pizza from the counter and deliver it. Each order pays roughly 30–90 coins, and once you’ve served 5, 20 and 50 pizzas in one session, you’ll earn the stamps.

Iceberg & Cave Mine: Mining

First, grab a Miner’s Helmet or Shovel. There’s a free Miner’s Helmet in the Cave Mine, although you may need a few clicks on the helmets and jackhammer to receive it. Then equip the helmet, take off everything else, stand on the dirt and press D to dig. Also, press D again about every 30 seconds to keep your digging at full speed. The same can then be done at the ice berg also.

Mining is slow, but it’s the most relaxed way to earn, and one player reported about 320 coins in 10 minutes. You’ll also earn stamps for 500, 1,000 and 2,000 coins from mining in one session. Best of all, players report that Journey rarely removes idle penguins, so you can leave mining running while you do something else, as long as your connection stays up.

The Double-Work Bonus

Once you collect every Penguins at Work stamp, your job pay doubles! Along the way you’ll earn at least 500 coins from each of the three jobs in a single session for the All the Work Hours stamp, and then make 5 customers smile for the Happy Customers stamp. It takes a bit of effort, but every shift after that is worth twice as much.

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: Monthly & Passive Coins

Some coins just show up without you lifting a flipper! So these are the easiest wins in our Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide.

Secret Agent Pay: 250 Coins a Month

Once you become a Secret Agent (a PSA or EPF agent), you’ll receive 250 coins every month with no extra effort. Nice!

Tour Guide Pay: 250 Coins a Month

Tour Guides also get 250 coins a month. First, to qualify, players report that your penguin needs to be at least 45 days old with at least 45 stamps. Then talk to the TourBot at Tour HQ and answer at least 7 out of 8 questions correctly to earn the Tour Guide Hat.

Puffle Digging: Lucky Bonus Coins

Puffles at level 5 or higher can dig up coins or treasure chests while you walk them, with a cooldown of about 5 minutes between digs. It’s too unreliable to be your main income, but it’s a lovely bonus if your puffle needs a walk anyway.

The Best Method for Your Goal

Not sure where to start with this Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide, though? Here’s a quick cheat sheet, so pick the goal that matches you.

If You Want To… Do This
Earn the most coins, fast Play Cart Surfer, switch your tricks and chase its stamps for 2x.
Buy an event outfit (about 250–350 coins) One or two Cart Surfer runs, or a few Puffle Roundup rounds.
Top up your last 80 coins Play a round or two of Puffle Roundup.
Earn while you’re away Put on the helmet and mine on the Iceberg or in the Cave Mine.
Get the most from a Double Coin Weekend Play the game you’ve already finished the stamps for, ideally Pufflescape Level 11 on Expert or Cart Surfer.

Earn without lifting a finger Become a Secret Agent or Tour Guide for 250 coins a month.
Just started playing Learn Cart Surfer, grab the free mining helmet and build up your stamps.

How Long Will It Take?

First, here’s a rough guide to how many Cart Surfer runs you’d need, using about 385 coins per run. That’s based on the 10-minute test we mentioned earlier, because that’s what skilled players report, and each run lasts about a minute. So treat it as a best case, newer players will likely need a few more runs, but you’ll get faster as you improve!

Coins Needed No Stamps (1x) All Stamps (2x) Stamps + Double Coin Weekend (4x)
1,000 About 3 runs About 2 runs 1 run
5,000 About 13 runs About 7 runs About 4 runs

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: Your Weekly Coin Plan

So, want a simple routine to follow? Then here’s an easy way to put this Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide into action.

  1. Week one: First, learn Cart Surfer and start collecting its stamps. Also, grab the free mining helmet from the Cave Mine, so you’re ready to mine whenever you step away.
  2. Between weekends: Keep finishing minigame stamps, because every game you complete doubles its payout. Then work towards the Penguins at Work stamps with friends.
  3. Aim for the 250-coin pay: Work towards the Tour Guide requirements (you need 45 days of play and 45 stamps), and then look into becoming a Secret Agent for monthly pay too.
  4. Double Coin Weekend: When the new Penguin Style catalog drops, spend your best grinding time on the game you’ve finished the stamps for, so you can earn up to 4x.
  5. Every day: Park your penguin mining while you do something else, and then take your level 5+ puffles for a walk for a chance at bonus coins.

Club Penguin Journey Ultimate Coin Guide: Mistakes to Avoid

Before you go, here are the mistakes our Club Penguin Journey ultimate coin guide sees most often, so you can dodge them.

  • Repeating the same Cart Surfer trick. It halves the points, so remember to switch moves!
  • Grinding on a normal weekend when a Double Coin Weekend is close. If you can wait, your coins can go twice as far.
  • Wearing extra items while mining or working. Take everything off except the helmet or apron, so you earn at full speed.
  • Skipping the stamps. A game with every stamp pays double, so skipping them means working twice as hard for the same coins.
  • Forgetting to press D while mining. A fresh press about every 30 seconds keeps your digging at full strength, so set a reminder.
  • Letting puffles escape in Puffle Roundup. Lost puffles cost you points, so herd them in carefully.

Where to Spend Your Coins

Once your wallet is full, it’s time to spend it! The Monster Maker catalog at the Halloween party sells its items for coins, so our Club Penguin Journey Halloween Party guide lists every price in the lab. Also, the monthly Penguin Style catalog is the place for new outfits, and our October Penguin Style catalog secrets guide shows you where the hidden items are.
