This past month, the Dark Warriors have seen a massive shift in its community. First, we broke ties with the Templars; then we saw a massive influx of High Command members enter the army. Our former allies then declared war on us, and we showed no mercy. After a swift 4-0-1 win, the army announced two new commanders in training entering leadership: Star and Ugly.

Star

Star joined the Dark Warriors in early 2020 and worked her way up to Dark Warlord before retiring in October of that year. She briefly joined the Fire Warriors in early 2021 as a Third in Command before retiring once again for almost 4 years.

When she heard word of the Dark Warriors reviving, she rejoined as a veteran before officially enlisting at the beginning of this year. Since then, she has proven time and time again that she has great leadership skills, many talents, and a lovely soul.

Ugly

Ugly entered the community after joining Aliens in 2020. Throughout his career, he has been in many armies serving as a HCOM, most notably in Fire Warriors, the Army of Club Penguin, and Void Troops. He won the Champions Cup 2 and New Year Bonanza tournaments with Fire Warriors, and upon joining ACP, his army won the Legends Cup XIII.

After his promotion to Commander in early 2024, he led the army to win the longest war in recent history, lasting over 100 battles against the Elite Guardians. He also won several tournaments and was awarded Person of the Year in 2024.

Once he retired, he took a break from leading for a few months before returning to help the Void Troops reach their peak in 2025, and was bestowed the title of the first Legend of the army. For most of 2026, he focused on his role as an executive for the Club Penguin Army League. Then in September, Ugly joined the Dark Warriors as a Second in Command.

What was your initial reaction to your promotion? Were you expecting it?

Ugly: I felt very proud of myself, obviously it wasn’t easy to live by the expectations built from my prior affiliations and playing a big part in winning the war. I was and still is ready to carry on the momentum so I wasn’t worried about being promoted or not, though either way I’m very happy with the announcement.

Star: I was very excited when I found out I was getting promoted! I was at my friends house eating the best tomato sauce pasta ever so it made it even more special. Since it is my highest rank I am sure I have a lot to learn but I look forward to it.

Why did you decide to join/rejoin DW?

Ugly: There’s a lot of good friends I have in Dark Warriors, I dont really seek to be in the top army or anything like that. Naturally I join the army that feels the most like home, and over time I feel glad that I do so.

Star: I rejoined Dark Warriors because I had a lot of fond memories of the community from 2020 and I wanted to see how it had evolved and changed.

The war vs. Templars is now over. Tell me how that experience was for you.

Ugly: The war went as smoothly as I expected, obviously we knew beforehand Templars were declaring so we were ready. It was also very necessary for me to get my experience back in leading big battles and it worked wonders after losing the first battle and learning from that and putting it into practice the next battles, so no regrets at all.

Star: I was on vacation when it all unfolded so I was mostly watching it from the sidelines on discord very nervously waiting for the results of each battle.

What are some of your favorite memories here so far?

Ugly: The team energy in DW is unmatched I’ve never seen anything like it. I enjoy spending my time with people here and talking and planning stuff.

Star: Definitely giving people tiramisu. its a great way to brib- I mean uh share a lovely dessert with others and add something to help us enjoy our time together more 😀

Outside of DW, what are your hobbies and interests?

Ugly: I like to travel especially to coastal cities its really refreshing every time. I also spend time with family across the country which I rlly enjoy.

Star: I do a lot of reading, right now I’m reading A Thousand Pieces Of You by Claudia Gray, and I love to sketch when my degree isn’t taking over my life 😀

What are your future goals for the army?

Ugly: Turn DW into a powerhouse war army and make it the most enjoyable to be in as a troop and as a staff. There’s a lot of armies that just do the same thing over and over so I wanna make DW an exception.

Star: Right now for the army I want to make it a fun place that has a great community so everyone can have fun

What advice would you give a troop/staff if they wish to be in your position one day?

Ugly: Be yourself, keep trying to push your own ideas and be a team player. Tons of people are gonna come and go to these same ranks but its about the individual creativity.
